Antiquey just like Main Street, Covington, lives, drinks and breathes.
But not official antiquey, mind you. Doesn’t it take 50 years to qualify as an antique? This beer is in honor of only the 40th anniversary of Davis’ fusion album. I hear it’s seminal. If seminal refers to the beer, I hope it’s with the more common definition and doesn’t mean the flavor is going to make every beer that comes after a letdown. Or that the influence of the bitches brewing it will inspire crankiness toward whatever pint comes next.
Either would be tragedy.
But again, the beer itself isn’t antiquey. Just damn, damn fine.
And at 9.0 ABVs, it’ll make you feel like your own antique after a couple pints. So take it easy with this bitch or we’ll take you on the “Road Show” and see how much you’re really worth.
But then we can update your insurance coverage accordingly.
Additional thought: If you’re not over 50, maybe you’re not an antique. But if you’re over something like 20 or 25, maybe that will qualify you as a collectible. Probably not enough of a boost to make up for the depreciation for when you were first driven off the lot. But take that for solace. Take it and like it.
Amid the enjoyment of the Bitches Brew, it’s worth noting the Cock & Bull has 50 beers on tap. Sweet. Just might have to check this place out again.
Tasted at: Cock & Bull Public House, est. 1999
