My personal photographer and I fought through the throngs of Carl fans to enjoy this blissful moment.

AJ and I took a trip to Chicago last November expressly to view a taping of NPR’s “Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me.” As luck would have it, we were there on Cheese Night.

The night’s Not My Job guest, Tom Brokaw, phoned it in, but Karl Cassel was a huge social butterfly. He flies in from D.C. for the weekly taping and manages to exude more energy than anyone else on the show. I’m simply in awe.
