Style: Porter
ABV: 5.0
4.5 of 5 burps
I love this beer. I love that it’s local. I love Hubbard & Cravens. I love that they’re local.
But there is one serious drawback to this beer: Having to suffer through the notorious Scotty’s Brewpub-style service at Thr3e Wise Men.
It’ll seem like service is getting better, but then take last night: Our pizza came before our appetizer (so we canceled it). And when we decided to order a second round with one of their fabulous carrot cakes. The beers came after said fabulousness was pretty much already devoured (but we didn’t cancel them).
It seems like Thr3e Wise is sticks to apologies for its slooooow and off-kilter service, while their Downtown brethren at Scotty’s Brewhouse are more apt to apologize plus give you a free dessert or other types of comps. And they must go through a lot of them.
This one time, when the apology dessert was en route, it got sent to the wrong table. So we got an up-sized apology dessert. At least there’s that potential upside, in addition to this porter.
